The Parliament has adopted the amendments to the Law “On legal status of foreign citizens and stateless persons in the Republic of Belarus” in the first reading.
Five million foreigners are officially claimed to have visited Belarus in 2018, 100.000 of whom did it under the 5-day non-visa permit.
Giving that into account and for the country to be even more attractive to foreigners the amendment permitting 10-day stay in Belarus without a registration has been adopted.
Some more introductions regarding highly qualified personnel working and living in Belarus on regular basis have also been passed by the government. Thus, foreigners working in Belarus may be granted a 2-year temporarily residence permit, and they will be able to apply for a permanent residence permit after 4 years of living in the country (up to now the number of years was 7).
Having come in force the latest amendments are expected to contribute to the further development of Belarussian travel industry.
