Mobile carrier Velcom is now providing 4G/LTE connection — the carrier officially confirmed the upgrading.
Velcom has become the last one to introduce 4G among Belarussian mobile carriers — MTS and Life:) did it a way earlier.
4G mobile data transfer is performed by the only operator building LTE networks in Belarus — beCloud. Velcom’s 4G is maintaining 1800 megahertz radio frequency.
For now, Velcom users can enjoy the speed of 4G connection being located in Minsk and Gomel but the carrier plans to extend the coverage. ‘Our 4G network is mainly aimed at satisfying the needs of big cities leaving 3G net being available at more than 97% of the country’s territory. The users whose devices support 4G standard and whose SIM-cards can handle it can connect to the Net at faster speeds right now’ says the carrier.
Belarus has officially fully stepped into the 4th generation networks and is already waiting for the 5th one to reach and seize our scopes.
