The newly built pharmaceutical plant Novalok was opened in the town of Skidel.
The foundation of the plant by the Indian company Lok-beta Pharmaceuticals and Belmedpreparaty will result in creating 70 working places and production of more than 78 mln pills and capsules per year.
Full time-frames realization of the project was prolonged till December with investment increase from $2 mln to $3.6 mln. Technological process validation and production launch of medicine in the form of pills and capsules conformed to GMP norms are expected to be carried out by the end of the year.
“A new highly technically equipped plant aimed at productions of pioneering drugs have been built in Grodno Region. The production line will include medicine used in treatment of such heavy diseases as AIDS, tuberculosis and diabetes” – said the Minister of Healthcare Valeriy Milashko. Mikhail Miasnikovich, the Head of the The Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus took part in the inauguration of the plant. He highlighted: “Now India is one of the world’s leaders in pharmaceutical manufacturing, that’s why we are actively working on setting up joint ventures”.
Novalok is planning to export 20% of its products. Export is expected to reach 50% by 2021 with Eurasian Economic Union (EES) member states as the major but not the only destination countries.
