Two brand-new planes to supplement Belarussian air carrier’s garage arrive in Minsk these weekends.
The way is not short — the planes are flying from São José dos Campos, Brazil which means that they cross 6 time-zones, 4 climatic zones and will cover 12.000 kilometres to reach Belarus.
One year ago Belavia signed a contract with Irish Nordic Aviation Capital Dac for leasing 5 Embraer planes — three Embraers-195 and two Embraers-175. One Embraer-195 has recently arrived in Minsk; another one is due to arrive within hours. A third plane is expected to appear in Minsk by the end of April. Two more planes will be shipped in December 2019 and April 2020.
Embraer-195’s capacity is 107 people, while Embraer-175 can hold 76 passengers. The arriving planes are to carry out their first Belavia’s itinerary flights just as early as April 23 as the planes are already in Belavia’s livery, which has also undergone some changes.
