Stadler’s train, specially developed for Minsk metro has been rolled-out. Tut.by found out what’s new and peculiar about it.
The four-car train has a wide through passage between the carriages, it is also more convenient for the disabled as there are zones for their safe and unimpeded allocation with immobilization equipment.
Air conditioning system is installed in every car and the noise produced by the train will be less loud both in operator’s cab and passenger carriages that are equipped with USB-slots for charging passengers’ devices. Moreover, expected operational life of such trains is longer and electricity consumption is by 15% less which is of utter importance to Minsk metro.
New trains are to be operational on the now-under-construction 3rd metro line, but for the operators to be familiar with the new control panel and for the train to prove its readiness for exploitation it will be tested in Minsk metro with no passengers inside.
All in all, 10 Stadler trains are to enlarge metro train depot by the end of 2020.
