Railway service between the city of Minsk and Minsk National Airport to be renewed in the nearest future.
Trains from Minsk Railway Station to Minsk National Airport were permanently running from 2014 to 2017, but then it was decided to temporarily close the railway service due to the beginning of the airport’s 2nd runway construction. At that time it took 70 minutes to get to the airport by train, which actually didn’t reach the airport itself — a bus service was used to get the passengers to the destination point.
According to the plan, the runway is to be set in operation by April-May, which will make it possible to develop and build railways that will enable passengers to get to and from the airport by electric train. ‘It’s a task to be completed this year or maximum next year’ – said the President during the meeting on further Minsk’s infrastructure development.
