Every town has numerous angler shops and supply rentals for both winter and summer fishing, and a fishing tour can be organized upon request. Anglers know how important it is to get to the spot before dawn, so to the greatest advantages of the country landscape and touristic resources is that almost every recreation base, sanatorium, summer or winter cabins and cottages for rent are located within walking distance from a riverbank or a lakeshore. These are some of the prime fishing spots of the country, and when we say prime, we mean you’ll get a good catch, AND great views, AND facilitated surrounding areas, AND privacy. What else could you possibly count for?
First of all, we should mention the rivers Dnieper, Pripyat, Sozh, Neman, Western Dvina, Berezina, Mukhavets, especially rich in pikes. Zander also inhabits Pripyat and the lower reaches of the Dnieper.
On the lakes, fishing from boats is more effective. The peak period of such fishing occurs in the summer and autumn months, after the spawning period, when it is restricted to go fishing on the water: you can only catch fish on one hook from the shore.
Fishing is possible on a free or paid basis. Paid fishing will cost you around 10 USD per day on the water reservoir filled with certain fish species. You might have to pay extra for the amount of caught fish if it exceeds the limit, which is 4-5 kilos per day. There are also cabins for rent on the shores of such fishing reservoirs, you’ll pay around 30-50 USD for a double room, fishing license, and sometimes, even fishing supplies, are included. You can pay extra and go luxury – the difference is in the fish itself, for 30 USD or so you’ll get access to a luxury fish ponds.
