Belarus in holding negotiations with foreign countries upon establishing regular flights to Minsk National airport from North and South America and India, BelTA reports.
The recently opened 2nd lane allows planes of all types to land on Belarussian land. This is seen as a key factor to broaden the list of the countries BELAVIA fulfils flights to. “Currently we are negotiating on establishing flights to far-abroad states such as India and North and South America countries. We also take into consideration the distance between the countries and the number of passengers who will take such flights,” said Prime Minister’s Deputy Vladimir Kuharev.
He claims that it’s rather early to name the date on which the first transatlantic flight from Minsk will be carried out but he sounds certain about long-distance flights fulfilment being brought to life in the nearest future. “The favourable location of the country will definitely play its part, and it’s only a matter of time for transatlantic flights to be announced at Minsk National airport,” claims Mr. Kuharev.
