At the Minsk National Airport the entry visa is issued by the Division for the Admission of Foreigners of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DAF).
In accordance with the law visa support documents should be submitted to the DAF by the inviting organization / person not later than 2 (two) business days before the expected arrival date. In extreme cases, when it comes to the death of relatives or other similar situations, you can provide invitations directly on arrival.
In practice companies usually invite people in this way: not later than 2 working days before the expected date of arrival of a foreign citizen they submit all the necessary documents to the DAF and when the invited person is coming to Belarus the DAF issues a visa in the airport.
Visa support documents should be submitted to the Information Desk of the DAF at sector 1/2 of the airport, ground floor, on a working day from 10.30 to 16.30.
The established procedure for visa-free movement through the airport does not apply to people arriving in Belarus by flights from the Russian Federation.
To receive a visa on arrival, a foreign citizen will have to fill in a visa application form and have an own photo (if there is no own photo, it can be done right there). A necessary condition for obtaining a visa will also be the availability of insurance, which covers the entire period for which a visa is issued. Health insurance can also be purchased also at the airport: you need only your passport to purchase it. It should be noted that the medical insurance is a compulsory condition to receive a visa as with no insurance it is impossible to receive a visa on arrival.
Upon receipt of a visa on arrival, the border guards have the right to ask you about the purpose of your visit, as well as have the right to ask clarifying questions, for example, about the inviting party. In case of any doubts or questions from the border guards, they can contact the representatives of the inviting party by phone.
Upon receipt of a visa on arrival in Belarus, you will need to pay a visa fee. This fee will depend on the type and date of visa issue, as well as on the presence of the Consular Office of the Republic of Belarus in your country.
