Visa application to Belarus

When planning a trip to Belarus, most foreigners face the issue of obtaining a visa. International treaties provide some citizens with the right to visa-free entry, while other foreigners are required to collect the necessary package of documents. The article will tell you about the procedure for filling out a visa application and the procedure for obtaining it.

Visa to Belarus

Depending on the purpose of arrival, a foreign citizen can obtain a long-term or short-term visa, tourist, transit or other visa. However, today it will be much more difficult to obtain a visa, since the border authorities are interested in preventing the importation and spread of coronavirus in Belarus, which affects the procedure for granting visas to foreigners.

We advise you to familiarize yourself with the safety rules and be prepared for increased attention and control, compliance with the rules of self-isolation and other requirements. Check in advance if you need to take a PCR test when traveling to Belarus. In this case, the result document must comply with the following rules:

• The test must be passed no later than 3 days before the date of crossing the border of the Republic of Belarus;

• The document must indicate the initials of the foreigner, the date of the study, the result in one of three possible languages ​​(English, Russian or Belarusian);

• If the submitted document contains data in a foreign language, then it will become mandatory to have information about the last name, first name and test result.

If your country is on the list of countries of the "Red Zone", then you will be required to test negative for coronavirus, as well as observe the self-isolation regime for 10 days. Detailed information can be found on the official website of the Ministry of Health.

Please note that foreign citizens arriving in Belarus are required to register on the official website of the unified portal of electronic services portal.gov.by within 5 days.

Also, the legislation states that foreign citizens who visit Belarus under the visa-free regime will not be able to subsequently leave for the Russian Federation and return back, even with a Russian visa.

The procedure for obtaining a visa to Belarus

Foreigners who purchase a plane ticket to Minsk National Airport are invited to obtain a visa directly at the airport. In order to use the facilitated form of obtaining a visa, you need to submit a package of necessary documents to the department for the entry of foreigners of the main consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus a few working days before the departure date.

If your arrival is related to the death of a family member, then visa support documents can be submitted at the time of applying for a visa.

Please make sure that there is a stamp on the copy of the issued visa support document. Its presence will be required during the check-in process for foreign citizens who do not have a visa on hand.

Terms of obtaining a visa to Belarus

If your application is approved, the wait will be about five business days. In case of urgent application, the visa can be opened within 48 hours for an additional fee.

We warn you that obtaining a visa is accompanied by the payment of a consular fee, the amount of which is 60 euros. Foreign citizens under the age of 14 are exempt from paying the fee.

Filling out an application for a visa to Belarus

The visa application form must be filled out in accordance with all the rules, have clear content and not raise unnecessary questions.

The language of filling out the questionnaire is set depending on the country of the foreign citizen. Standard filling languages ​​are English, Russian and Belarusian.

Each answer to the visa application form must be complete, true and true.

After filling out, you personally put your signature at the end of the questionnaire. If the application is filled in by a minor tourist, then it is signed by a legal representative.

Recommendations for filling out the application.

Items 1-12 are filled in in accordance with the passport. If a question arises with the citizenship of a minor, his confirmation is accompanied by the following documents:

1. birth certificate of a minor;

2. Copies of the main pages of the parents' passports, etc.

In paragraph 15, you must indicate the type of activity, the address of the official place of work, and the phone number.

In 16-18 points, indicate the category of visa (transit, short-term, long-term), its type and number of entries.

In paragraph 19, indicate the full duration of the visa.

In paragraph 20, fill in the details of the inviting party.

In paragraph 21, indicate the address of the inviting party and contact information.

In paragraph 22, re-enter the address if the address of the host matches the address of the inviting party.

In paragraph 23, detail the purpose of your trip.

In paragraph 24, indicate how many times you have been to Belarus before, as well as the dates of the visit / visits (the dates of entry-exit can be determined by the stamps on the pages of the passport). In the following paragraphs, you need to indicate information about preliminary attempts to obtain a visa to Belarus, if any.

In paragraphs 33-40, you should indicate your marital status, and fill in the data about your wife / husband / children.

Clauses 42-43 must be signed with a personal signature (in the original, copies and facsimiles are not accepted) and the date of signing the questionnaire; for minors, the application form is signed by a legal representative.

List of other required documents for a visa to Belarus

To apply for a visa to Belarus, you need to collect the following documents:

• Original of the application form, signed by the applicant;

• Photo, size 35x45 mm;

• The passport;

• visa support documents;

• a medical insurance contract concluded with Belgosstrakh or Beleximgarant, or with a foreign insurance organization;

• receipt of payment of the consular fee;

• other documents.

If you are applying for a business visa, do not forget to take with you an invitation from a legal entity of the Republic of Belarus (a person must have an official registration in the country).

If you are applying for a visitor visa, be sure to bring your invitation with you. It must be registered in the name of a Belarusian resident through the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

If you are applying for a tourist visa, do not forget to take with you the contract for tourist services, the tour program and confirmation of cooperation with the official travel agency of Belarus.

Visitor and business visas can be extended at your discretion for up to 90 days. This issue is not resolved independently, therefore, please contact the regional department for citizenship and migration at the place of stay of a foreign citizen.
