Types of Visas to Belarus
The following types of visas are provided in Belarus:
B - transit;
C - short-term, valid for up to 90 days;
D - long-term, valid for up to 1 year with the right to stay up to 90 days a year, unless otherwise provided by international treaties of the Republic of Belarus.

Student visa to Belarus
Student visa is issued to applicants who are going to receive education in our country. Foreign students from countries with a visa regime of entry into the Republic of Belarus before arrival must receive an invitation to study and apply for a study visa.
Tourist visa to Belarus
A tourist visa is usually issued within 5 business days, there is also the possibility of an urgent visa to Belarus (within 48 hours) when paying in double size. The standard cost of a Belarusian guest or business single-entry visa is from 40 to 80 US dollars.
Children under the age of 16 receive a visa to Belarus for free, with the exception of some Belarusian embassies and consulates, where a fee is charged for the costs associated with issuing a visa.
Business visa to Belarus
A visa is required for foreigners of all countries.
Belarus has signed a special agreement with some countries that allow foreign citizens to travel without a Belarusian visa for more than 30 days. Such countries are Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine.
A business visa is valid for up to 90 days.
Documents required for obtaining a visa to Belarus
• one copy of the visa application form on the form, according to the approved form, the application form in Russian / English;
• one photo;
• a document for traveling abroad;
• visa support documents
• compulsory medical insurance policy of Belgosstrakh or Beleximgarant enterprises or a medical insurance policy, insurance card or other document confirming the existence of a medical insurance contract concluded with a foreign insurance organization;
• additional documents necessary for making a decision on the issuance of an entry visa (at the request of a consular officer);
• confirmation of payment of the consular fee (see the "Rates" section).
Visa-free regime in Belarus
Today, foreign citizens can visit Belarus in a simplified form.
To enter the visa-free program for 30 days you need to have:
• passport / document for traveling abroad;
• cash (for each day at least 2 basic units);
• medical insurance policy;
• for citizens of Vietnam, Haiti, India, Lebanon, Namibia, Samoa, a mandatory multiple entry visa of the EU or Schengen states with a mark on entry into their territory, as well as tickets with confirmation of departure from Minsk National Airport within 30 days from departure dates.
Short-term visa
Short-term visa (type C) is a visa valid for up to 90 days with the right to one, two or multiple entries and the right to stay on the territory of the Republic of Belarus up to 90 days:
• a business trip, participation in sports / cultural tourism events;
• in private affairs;
• studies;
• work (with the right to work for hire);
• visits to burial sites;
• implementation of humanitarian programs;
• carrying out journalistic activities;
• maintaining religious ties;
• for permanent residence.
Long term visa
Long-term entry visa (type D) is a visa valid for up to 1 year with the right to stay up to 90 days, unless otherwise provided by international treaties of the Republic of Belarus for the following purposes:
•business trips;
• participation in sports (cultural) events;
• private affairs;
• visiting burial sites;
• maintaining religious ties;
• implementation of humanitarian programs;
• journalistic activities;
•Job.
Receiving a visa upon arrival
Foreigners arriving in Belarus from a country without a representative office can obtain a visa upon arrival at the Minsk National Airport. To do this the inviting person or organization must provide an original invitation to the Department of Citizenship and Migration prior to your arrival.
Do citizens of Russia need a visa to Belarus?
Russians do not need a visa to visit Belarus. Moreover it is possible to enter the territory of the country not only by a passport, but also by an internal Russian passport.
In Belarus Russian citizens can stay without registration 90 days from the date of entry. If you plan to stay longer, you need to register at the place of stay. This can be done personally in the nearest branch of the migration service or online on the Belarusian Unified portal of electronic services.
If you enter the territory of our country by train then most likely you will not meet border control.
Transit through Belarus
Foreigners' transit through the territory of the Republic of Belarus is carried out in a period not exceeding two days from the date of their entry into the country, with the exception of cases of a forced stop.
For transit foreign guests must have the following documents:
• international passport;
• transit visa of the Republic of Belarus;
• health insurance contract;
• insurance certificate valid in the territory of the Republic of Belarus;
• funds to cover expenses throughout the country.
Belarus Customs Agreements
Belarus and the European Union signed agreements on simplifying the issuance of visas and on the readmission of persons staying without permission on January 8 in Brussels. The parties are confident that this will facilitate the travel of citizens, the development of international, including tourist, contacts, as well as strengthen the atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding between people.
Customs regulation among the CIS countries
The closest and most fruitful customs cooperation of the Republic of Belarus is carried out in the post-Soviet space in the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
Additionally, it is worth noting the active development of customs cooperation in the post-Soviet space, including within the CIS.
