Prevention of coronavirus in humans in 2020
COVID-19 Pandemic is on the agenda. Lovers all over the world are concerned about the virus's spread. Some have gone into self-isolation, while others do not have it for any reason. We will talk about prevention measures against COVID-19 and about antiviral drugs and immunomodulatory.
How not to become infected with coronavirus?
To reduce the risk of infection with coronavirus, it is necessary to adhere to a number of rules, about which the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization.
- Wash your hands
To reduce the risk of coronavirus and other infections, WHO recommends washing your hands with water and soap as often as possible - this reduces the number of germs on your hands.
Hands should be washed for 20 minutes, grabbing areas of the palms and forearms. When washing your hands in public places, it is better to use paper towels rather than dryers.
- Use an antiseptic
The antiseptic should cover the entire surface of the palms and their back. To do this at least 3 ml of antiseptic should be used at a time. The antiseptic must include alcohol strength of at least 60-70%.
- Wear a mask or respirator if necessary
The rules for using the mask we have told here: https://justarrived.by/ru/blog/koronavirusnaia-infektsiia-covid-19-simptomy-i-lechenie.
- Disinfect the room
You need to do wet cleaning in the apartment every day if you are self-insulated. In offices and other areas, clinkers should be cleaned daily with disinfectants.
- Avoid areas with large numbers of people
If you do not have the opportunity to go to isolation, try to protect yourself at least on weekends and stay home.
Is there a vaccine to prevent coronavirus?
The first cases of coronavirus were detected in December 2019, but by April, no COVID-19 vaccine had been found yet. Scientists in China and America are now working to develop a vaccine, but this is not a quick process, as coronavirus has not been fully studied.
In mid-March, clinical trials for a new type of vaccine against coronavirus began in China. More than a hundred volunteers are participating in the trials, divided into three groups. The first group receives a low dosage, the second group an average dosage, the third group a high dosage. The clinical trials are expected to last from March 16 to December 31, 2020.

Best antiviral drugs and immunomodulatory list
Paracetamol on WHO recommendation
The World Health Organization recommended paracetamol for the coronavirus and abstain from ibuprofen.
"We recommend using paracetamol rather than ibuprofen for self-treatment. This is important", said Christian Lindmaier, WHO Representative in Geneva.
Arbidol
China's National Health Commission recommended Arbidol for treatment of coronavirus, but Chinese experts and pharmaceutical manufacturers still have doubts about the effectiveness of the drug, so now Arbidol is being further tested.
Interferon
Chinese experts recommend interferon for treatment of coronavirus.
Ribavirin
Ribavirin is on the same list as Interferon, so it can be used for COVID-19 treatment.
Amixin
Amixin helps to increase the degree of protection of the body, gives a high chance not to fall ill or survive the disease without devastating consequences for life and health.
Ergopheron
Ergopheron has not been studied for counteraction to COVID-19, and some experts consider its use to be a false science.
Tamiflu
Chinese medical experts see Tamiflu as a promising option for a cure for COVID-19, and Japanese doctors have doubts about it, so Tamiflu is still being tested.
Cycloferon
Cycloferon is a drug that can be active against most viruses, including coronavirus. Cycloferon helps to block the activity of viruses and strengthen antiviral immunity, shorten the period of disease and reduce the risk of complications.
Anaferon
The use of Anaferon in coronavirus infection contributed to the reduction of fever duration by 1.4 days on the average, intoxication symptoms - by 2.2 days, catarrhal events - by 2.7 days, gastrointestinal dysfunction - by 2 days.
Broncho-Munal
Broncho-Munal contains bacterial lysates, is an immunostimulating agent, enhancing immunity against respiratory tract infections.
Remedesevir
The most popular drug in the class of nucleotide analogues is Remdesivir, which is believed to be effective against SARS-CoV-2. The American biotechnology firm Gilead Sciences for use against Ebola originally developed the drug.
Avigan
Avigan was recommended in Japan only as a cure for serious influenza epidemics.
Is it worth taking antibiotics?
Since the disease is not fully studied, it is not worth taking antibiotics. In addition, antibiotics without a doctor's prescription worsen the immune system and the body becomes more susceptible to viruses.
Scientists say that antibiotics cannot cope with coronavirus, as they are effective only against bacteria or fungi, but not against viruses that live inside the cells of the body. However, your doctor can prescribe you antibiotics if there is a risk of bacterial co-infection.
Coronavirus prophylaxis medication in the form of antiseptics
Antiseptics should contain at least 60% alcohol. Alcoholic antiseptics are effective against many bacteria as well as influenza, rhinovirus, hepatitis A and even HIV.
Ethanol destroys the protein cover that many viruses, including coronavirus, have.
The effectiveness of antiseptics is reduced if your hands are greasy or heavily soiled - for example after eating or working in the garden. In such cases, it is still advisable to find a way to wash your hands with soap. In addition, antiseptics are useless against pesticides and heavy metals.
Nasal ointment: Oxolin, Betheron
The antiviral effect of Oxolin ointment has not yet been proven, on the contrary, its use can increase the chances of getting sick, but Betheron physicians advise to use in the treatment of coronavirus.
Spray than rinse the throat and wash the nose and eyes
If you become infected with coronavirus, symptoms are treated as the disease is not fully investigated, so your doctor may prescribe you a spray or liquid for rinsing your throat and washing your nose and eyes.
Disinfectants
In order for disinfectants to kill not only bacteria but also coronaviruses, they must contain ethyl alcohol with a content of at least 95%. Only ethyl alcohol has the ability to inactivate the coronavirus. Therefore, the following disinfectants are meaningless and even dangerous:
- Chlorhexidine
- Miramistine
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Betadine
Counting on the fact that the hands are not treated, people can touch their nose or eyes with them, infecting themselves.

Vitamins in coronavirus prevention tablets
Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Alexander Chuchalin said that the prevention of coronavirus should take vitamins A and E. Vitamin C is best taken in the early stages of coronavirus disease. In addition, vitamin D is more suitable for the prevention of viral infections. Vitamin D is also said to be more important than vitamin C. "Vitamin D is a very important substance for human health, which is involved in most body functions and serves to maintain immunity, among other things.
Do you drink antiviral supplements to prevent coronavirus?
Bioadditives are not medicines, and therefore they do not have a pronounced physiological effect. It is better to replace supplements with vitamins A, E, D, and C.
No one knows how long the pandemic will last, but it is better to take preventive measures and protect yourself now than to be treated later.
