The history of the church of St. Anne in the village of Mosar
The Church of St. Anne in the village of Mosar has been known since 1792, when the Polotsk kashtelian Robert Bozhestovsky allocated part of his budget for the construction of the cathedral. Since then, the church has been considered an architectural monument of the classicism era.
The church went through many wars and crisis moments, but remained active. In the 19th century, on the day of commemoration of this saint, tens of thousands of believers from all over the area gathered in the church.
A special feature of the church is the presence in it of the icons "Crucifixion" and "Our Lady of Hodegetria" of the 18th century. In 2005, a monument to Pope John Paul II appeared near the church.
At the temple, priest Bulka organized an anti-alcohol museum and laid the "alley of sobriety" in the park. On his initiative, the parish of the Mosar Church of St. Anne was declared a zone of sobriety.
The architecture of the church of St. Anne in the village of Mosar
The church was built for many years, but at the exit there was a building in the neoclassical style. The temple itself is a three-tiered bell tower and a chapel of the Ostrobramskoy Mother of God.
Despite the restraint of the building, it cannot be equated with the usual definitions of classicism. This church is not at all characterized by such features as austerity and dullness.
