Due to illness, the son of a large landowner Edward Voinilovich Simon died at the age of 12. This became a tragedy for the Sluchchins family, but a few years later his daughter Elena died too. The father was very upset about the death of his children, and therefore decided to perpetuate their memory by building a church. The family donated their entire fortune and agreed with the authorities to approve the project.

Locals say that shortly before her death, Elena dreamed about this church, which became an inspiration for the desperate Edward.

Today the Red Church lives not only a religious life. Thus, performances and exhibitions are often held in the lower part of the building. Today, in front of the entrance to the Red Church, you can see a bronze sculpture of the Archangel Michael - the heavenly patron of Belarus.
