History of the Church of the Holy Trinity in the village of Volchin
The village of Volchin is known as the birthplace of the last king of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth - Stanislav August Poniatowski. Today the main monument of Volchin is the Trinity Church, built in 1733.
The temple was repeatedly subjected to destructive actions during the Great Patriotic War, then it housed the collective farm storage of fertilizers and pesticides.
In 2007. the church was transferred to the Pinsk diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in the Republic of Belarus and work has begun to restore its original appearance.

Unfortunately, the church has not survived in its original form.
During the years of construction, the building was decorated with sculptures of four evangelists, carved out of stone (one sculpture has survived). The main entrance is highlighted by an arched vestibule. In the crypt of the temple, the remains of King Stanislav August were buried for several decades. From 1866 to 1918 the building of the church was consecrated as an Orthodox church.

Today the church is not active, so no additional church paraphernalia is required to enter.

Today the church is dangerous to visit, so we do not recommend including this route in your trip. If you decide to see the Church of the Holy Trinity with your own eyes, then the path will be about 390 km from Minsk.
There is no direct transport to the village of Volchin, tourists usually prefer their own car. Travel time on average takes 4 hours.
