Grodno State Agrarian University (SSAU) is one of the largest universities in Western Belarus, which trains specialists for the agricultural sector in full-time and part-time departments. The number of budget places at the correspondence department of the SSAU is small, but the cost of training is much lower than the full-time. In general, the passing points are lifting, so with due diligence to see yourself on the credited lists really.

SSAU works closely with universities in Iraq, Lithuania, Poland, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, Finland, Sweden. The Agrarian University is actively developing programs Erasmus +, TEMPUS, FOSTERC.

The decision on education was adopted on January 17, 1951 by Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR No. 145 “On the Organization of an Agricultural Institute in the city of Grodno of the Belorussian SSR”. In the same year, 175 students were accepted to the first year of the agronomy and zootechnical faculties, 25 to the 2nd year. 24 teachers worked at the institute, 7 of them had a Ph.D.

In 1962, the Faculty of Plant Protection was established. In the future, faculties were created: advanced training and retraining of personnel in the agricultural sector, economic, veterinary medicine, accounting, pre-university training and career guidance. In December 2005, the first graduation of the Graduate School of Management took place, where students received a second higher education.

In 2000, GGAU was granted university status.

Admission to the magistracy at UO GGAU is carried out in the following specialties for full-time education:

Agronomy (academic degree - Master of Agricultural Sciences);
Zootechnics (academic degree - Master of Agricultural Sciences);
Veterinary medicine (academic degree - Master of Veterinary Sciences);
“Economics” (academic degree - Master of Economic Sciences);
“Production of food products from plant materials” (academic degree - Master of Engineering);
“Production of food products from animal raw materials” (academic degree - Master of Technical Sciences).
