The University of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Belarus - an educational institution of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus - is an active educational link in the protection against emergencies of a natural and man-made nature.
The Institute of the Ministry of Emergencies of Belarus provides training for highly qualified specialists with well-developed civil and moral qualities, able to effectively carry out practical, scientific and innovative activities. The Team Engineering Institute operates on the principles of responsibility to society, the unity of the processes of ideological and civic formation of the individual, training and education, the integration of science, education and practice. The strategy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is based on creative and interested cooperation of teachers, educators, students, practitioners of emergency agencies and units, and is aimed at creating and implementing advanced educational technologies and scientific programs, improving the educational material and technical base.
September 27, 1933, when the Fire and Technical School for the training of command personnel of the fire department was opened on the basis of the fire brigade in Minsk.
In 1992, the institution was reorganized into a higher educational institution, which since 2000 was called the “Command Engineering Institute” of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus.
In 2016, the university was created by combining the Command and Engineering Institute with other educational institutions of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Belarus - the Gomel Engineering Institute and the Institute of Retraining and Advanced Training of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Belarus, which provided training in the same or related specialties.
Since 2002, the educational institution has experience in training citizens of Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan. The quality of service is confirmed by certificates of compliance with the requirements of STB ISO 9001: 2009 and DIN EN ISO 9001: 2008.
The University is a member of the European Association of Higher Education Institutions providing education and training in the field of prevention and liquidation of natural and man-made emergencies and civil defense (European Fire Service Colleges Associations - EFSCA).
