Cookie policyThe history of the academy began in 1932, when the Belarusian State Conservatory was built. And two years later she was named after A.V. Lunacharsky.
Over the years, the conservatory has achieved great success in the field of music, and already in 1983 it was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples for services in the training of musical personnel.
In 1992, the institution was renamed the Belarusian Academy of Music, and 5 years later it became the Belarusian State Academy of Music.
The Academy graduated the best musicians, and brilliant concerts of Belarusian composers were rehearsed within its walls. Musicians from all over the country tried to get here.
In 200, the Academy received the status of a leading university in the Republic of Belarus in the field of musical art.
And in 2017, the academy celebrated its 85th anniversary.
The history of the Academy is closely intertwined with the formation of musical art in our country. It was here that Anatoly Bogatyrev, Pyotr Podkovyrov and Vasily Efimov were released.
Every year, graduates and current employees of the academy bring awards from republican and international performing competitions and festivals. And the best of them become scholars of the special fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the support of talented youth. Among these are Alexander Muzykantov, Elena Ostashkina-Myslivchik, Yulia Okhotnikova (piano), Elena Gutina (composition), Vyacheslav Larin (choral conducting) and others.
The following faculties remain active in the academy:
• Faculty of Piano, Composition and Musicology;
• Orchestral faculty;
• Vocal and choral faculty;
• Faculty of folk instruments;
• Faculty of advanced training and retraining.
Enrollment in the ranks of BSAM students is carried out under the following conditions: the applicant passes the Creativity exam, which consists of 3 stages, and passes the entrance tests. Each stage is assessed with a 10-point system. A competition is held among the applicants, according to which the persons who have received more points enter the academy.
Applicants pass the following entrance tests: Belarusian (Russian) language (result of CT), history of Belarus (result of CT), "Creativity". The "Creativity" exam for applicants who have chosen the specialty "Composition" implies the performance of their own works (one grade on a 10-point system).
The exam "Creativity" for applicants who have chosen the specialty "Singing" involves 2 stages: the first – in the classroom, the second – in the concert hall (each is evaluated on a 10-point system).
A mandatory requirement for foreign applicants is the availability of general secondary education, secondary specialized music or higher music education.
At the same time, the applicant must have a certificate of training at the preparatory department, where the Russian language, specialty, music theory and other disciplines are studied.
Further, the foreign applicant takes the final exam at the preparatory department. Upon satisfactory delivery, the applicant enters the academy, otherwise he is re-trained.
A prerequisite for obtaining the second and third stages of higher education is the presence of the first.
You can enroll in the BSAM master's program for the following profiles:
• The art of concert performance;
• Musicology and composition.
The number of "budgetary" places – 10. The numbers of admission to the magistracy on a paid basis – 79.
The postgraduate study accepts students for full-time studies and in the form of an application. The number of places for full-time education – 2, in the form of competition – 2. Admission to doctoral studies is carried out for full-time education. Number of places – 2.
Periodically, students carry out activities within the framework of musical projects or results of the past year.
