History of Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts

The Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts was established in 1975.

Over the next few years, the university actively developed international relations; a magistracy and the Mozyr branch of the distance learning faculty were opened. In 1996, the university successfully passed certification and accreditation.

In 2004, the Belarusian State University of Culture was renamed into the educational institution of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts.

The structure of the university includes the Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining, 5 faculties, 26 special and university departments. as well as the following departments and services: educational and methodological department, department of legal and personnel work, department of international relations, department of educational work with youth, art gallery "University of Culture", production center "Art Major", postgraduate study, scientific department, library.

The teaching staff of the university is more than 350 people, of which almost 50% have academic degrees and titles, honorary titles.

In order to improve the quality of education at the university, an educational and methodological association for education in the field of culture and art was created, which includes 8 scientific and methodological councils on education and groups of specialties. The main functions of the educational and methodological association are: participation in the development and improvement of higher education standards and standard curricula; examination of curricula in specialties and curricula in the studied disciplines; coordination of manuscripts of textbooks, teaching and learning aids.

BSUCA provides training for highly qualified postgraduates and doctoral students in the following specialties: "Library Science, Bibliography and Book Science", "Theory, Methodology and Organization of Social and Cultural Activities", "Theory and History of Arts", "Theory and History of Culture", "Museum".

The staff of the university is a creative community of leading figures of national culture, famous scientists, teachers, young representatives of the intellectual and creative forces of our country, which strives to purposefully implement the program of recording, studying, preserving and broadcasting traditional and modern Belarusian culture in its widest variety. Well-equipped computer classes, specialized classrooms, a music library, a rich educational electronic library, pottery workshops, straw weaving, tapestries, weaving, painting on fabric, weaving, ancient Belarusian musical instruments allow organizing the educational process of students.

Over the period of its existence, more than 30 thousand young specialists have received university diplomas. Highly professional teaching staff allows the university to prepare highly qualified specialists who combine deep specialized knowledge with in-depth humanitarian training. BSUCA has a high rating among the universities of Belarus due to high-quality research and innovative educational activities, large-scale artistic creativity.

Faculties at Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts

The university invites applicants to the following faculties:

• Preparatory department;

• Faculty of distance learning;

• Faculty of information and documentary communications;

• Faculty of Cultural Studies and Sociocultural Activities;

• Faculty of Musical Arts;

• Faculty of Traditional Belarusian Culture and Contemporary Art.

Admission to Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts

Applicants are required to submit the following documents to the selection committee:

• a sample application (filled in at the university);

• documents on education with an application;

• certificates of CT held in the Republic of Belarus in the year of admission / for the previous year;

• medical certificate of health status in the form;

• Documents confirming the benefits of the applicant.

Education for foreign students at Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts

To receive an official invitation to the University of Culture and Arts, the applicant must collect the following documents:

• application to study at BSUCA;

• documents on education with an application;

• a copy of the national passport.

The applicant is not required to personally attend the verification of documents. They can be sent by mail, fax or e-mail

Additionally, foreign applicants have the opportunity to take one-year Russian language courses. They involve students attending classes in the chosen specialty.

Master's degree at Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts

The university offers training at the second stage of higher education. Here, students are taught the skills and abilities of research work, and at the exit they are given a diploma with the assignment of a Master's degree.

Students are taught in the following specialties:

• Art management;

• Culturology;

• Art history;

• Library and information activities;

• Museum business and protection of historical and cultural heritage
