History of BSUIR

The history of the educational institution began in 1964, when the MRTI was opened in Minsk. Initially, 3 faculties were opened there and 2500 students were accepted for training.

Every year, the university has developed with the great help of academicians in the formation of the educational process and the creation of educational and methodological material. Within 10 years, the university became the third nationwide.

The university won republican and international competitions for the development and contribution to the country's educational system. The employees were awarded awards and titles. And already in the 90s, MRTI became the leading university in the country.

In 1993, the university was renamed the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, and after 5 years it passed certification for the status of a higher educational institution.

In 2001, a magistracy was opened, where students were prepared for the second stage of higher education.

In 2005, on the basis of the university, the Electronic Applicant space was created. In the same year, all textbooks and lecture materials were transferred to electronic format for the convenience of students studying subjects.

In 2010, the university launched a business incubator in the field of IT technologies, which was developed for BSUIR and had no analogues in any other university.

Gradually, they began to learn about the university in foreign universities, so BSUIR began to sign agreements on international cooperation with Germany, the USA and European countries.

And already in 2019, the university celebrated its 55th anniversary. During this time, BSUIR has earned a reputation as the best university in the field of computer science and radio electronics, and its graduates are in-demand specialists in the labor market.

Today the university opens doors to the following faculties:

• Military Faculty;

• Engineering and Economics Faculty;

• Faculty of distance learning;

• Faculty of Information Technology and Management;

• Faculty of Computer Design;

• Faculty of Computer Systems and Networks;

• Faculty of Computer Technologies of the Institute of Information Technologies;

• Faculty of Continuous and Distance Learning;

• Faculty of Radio Engineering and Electronics;

• Faculty of infocommunications;

• Faculty of pre-university training and vocational guidance.

Admission to BSUIR

The university annually recruits thousands of freshmen. To become one of them, the applicant must bring the following documents:

•the passport;

• application by sample;

• document on education with an attachment;

• CT certificates for the current or previous year;

• medical certificate;

• documents on benefits;

• 2 photos of 3x4 cm.

International cooperation at BSUIR

Throughout its history, BSUIR has signed 170 agreements with foreign universities from 40 countries. Therefore, BSUIR students regularly take part in international conferences and competitions in the field of electronics and computer science.

• Kazakhstan Agro Technical University named after S. Seifullin (Kazakhstan);

• Mittweida University of Applied Sciences (Germany);
