Grodno State Agrarian University

History of GSAU

The history of the university began in 1951, when the first agricultural institute was opened in Grodno. The institute immediately recruited students to the agronomic and zootechnical faculties. The teaching staff of the educational institution was represented by specialists, most of whom had the status of candidates of sciences.

Over time, the faculty continued to develop, new faculties and disciplines were created. The faculty of advanced training was opened, as well as pre-university training of applicants.

In 2000, the institute was renamed into the Agricultural University. Throughout its history, the university has provided the entire Grodno region with personnel who occupy leading positions at many agricultural enterprises.

Some graduates bear the proud title of Heroes of Socialist Labor, Heroes of the Republic of Belarus and Honored Workers of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus.

Today the university has a wide infrastructure, which includes hostels, a canteen, a recreation center, a library, a museum, etc. The university is interested in the development of students, both in the educational industry and the development of their creative potential, therefore, it invites students to take part in amateur art circles.
