History of VSTU

The history of the educational institution Vitebsk State Technological University began in 1959, when in the post-war years Belarus discovered a shortage of light industry specialists.

38-1 Stroytrest was involved in the construction of the university, and the team later even received the Order of Lenin for their significant contribution to the formation of the educational institution.

In 1965, the famous associate professor, Stepan Evdokimovich Savitsky, was invited to the post of rector. Under his management, the university received colossal development and recognition. For 23 years, Stepan Evdokimovich has opened many faculties and departments, which function to this day. In addition to the educational process, the structure of the university is of great importance. Under Savitsky, an educational building, a hostel, outdoor communications and utility rooms were built.

The number of places for admission gradually increased, new offices and laboratories were opened. And in 1995 the institute received the status of a higher educational institution.

Today, the educational process of the university is implemented in 21 specialties of the first stage of higher education, in 10 specialties in the magistracy and in 8 specialties in graduate school. The educational process is led by 218 people of the teaching staff, including 15 doctors of sciences, professors, 100 candidates of sciences, associate professors.

The university prepares professional specialists in the light and textile industry, economic profile, design, IT, trains specialists for machine-building enterprises, centers of standardization and metrology, research laboratories, etc.

Programs of pre-university training, advanced training and retraining of personnel are being implemented at a high professional level.

VSTU faculties

The university invites applicants to the following faculties:

• Faculty of advanced training and retraining of personnel;

• Faculty of Economics and Business Management;

• Faculty of pre-university training and career guidance.

Admission to VSTU

Applicants are required to submit the following documents to the selection committee:

• a sample application (filled in at the university);

• documents on education with an application;

• certificates of CT held in the Republic of Belarus in the year of admission / for the previous year;

• medical certificate of health status in the form;

• 6 photographs (3 * 4 cm.);

• Documents confirming the benefits of the applicant.

Specialized secondary education at VSTU

On the basis of VSTU, the Vitebsk State Industrial and Pedagogical College of VSTU has been opened since 2015.

Today the college invites applicants to the following specialties:

•commercial activity;

• technology of food production;

• production of products and organization of public catering;

• design and technology of garments;

• hairdressing and decorative cosmetics.

Master's degree at VSTU

The university offers training at the second stage of higher education. Here, students are taught the skills and abilities of research work, and at the exit they are given a diploma with the assignment of a Master's degree.

Students are taught in the following specialties:

• economy;

• management in social and economic systems;

• engineering business;

• innovative technologies in mechanical engineering;

• system analysis, management and information processing (by industry);

• manufacture of textiles;

• production of clothing, footwear and leather goods;

• automation.

Postgraduate study at VSTU

Postgraduate studies are the stage of postgraduate education. Her task is to prepare and defend a thesis for the degree of candidate of sciences. At the end of the training, the graduate is awarded a diploma with the award of the degree "Researcher".

Students are taught in the following specialties:

• Technology of mechanical engineering;

• Machines, units and processes (light industry);

• Organization of production (light industry);

• Automation and control of technological processes and production;

• Materials science of textile and light industry production;

• Technology and primary processing of textile materials and raw materials;

• Technology of leather, fur, footwear and leather goods;

• Geoecology.
