85th anniversary of the National Art Museum of Belarus

In honor of the 85th anniversary of the National Art Museum of Belarus, Sputnik's article provides an overview of the must-see exhibits.

The museum, founded in 1939, has a rich collection of more than 33,000 works of art from 132 countries over approximately 12 centuries. Some of the outstanding works include Slutsk belts, portraits of Ivan Khrutsky, Vasily Pukirev and Yudel Pen, as well as works by famous artists such as Ivan Aivazovsky, Nikolai Bogdanov-Belsky, Arkhip Kuindzhi and others.

The collection also includes works by contemporary artists such as Mai Dantsig. The museum, which began its history in a building on Karl Marks Street, has since significantly expanded its space and continues to attract the attention of the public with its diverse art.
