A BSU scientist participates in an international project on boson stars
Ilya Perapechka, a graduate student of the Physics Department of BSU, together with researchers Yakov Schnir from Russia and Jutta Kunz from Germany, studies boson stars in the Universe, writes the BSU website.
Scientists have solved the most difficult problem in astrophysics. They theoretically approached the proof of the existence of boson stars, developed their supposed types and found a solution to the equation of the theory of gravity with material fields. Ilya has developed a software package for the efficient solving of equations.
Today, astrophysicists all over the world are trying to prove the presence of boson stars. The difficulty lies in the fact that theoretically they are invisible in space and do not emit any radiation. If scientists can prove that boson stars exist, it will help explain many of the observed properties of galaxies, get closer to understanding the appearance of many little-studied astronomical phenomena and dark matter.
