A "Day without a car" will be held in Minsk

A "Day without a car" will be held in Minsk on Thursday, September 22, BelTA reported. On this day, drivers will be able to ride public transport and metro for free. A driver's license and a certificate of registration of the vehicle should be presented.

Also on this day, the action "Riding bike to work" is planned. Fruit distribution will be organized at four points of the city for cyclists and pedestrians who will walk to work.

  • The first point is near the entrance to the Central Botanical Garden on praspiekt Niezaliežnasci.
  • The second point is near the Minsk Arena on the side of the bike path (Prospekte Pobeditelei, 111).
  • The third point is in the area of the Motovelozavod (Partyzanski praspekt, 8).
  • The fourth point is near a multilevel park on Prospekt Dzerzhinskogo, 11.

Also, on September 21 and 22, an experiment will be conducted in Minsk to measure the concentration of pollutants in the atmospheric air. This event has been held annually since 2016. According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, on days without a car, emissions in the country are reduced from 100 to 200 tons.
