A dynamic pricing system has been introduced in high-speed trains Moscow-Minsk
Since July 23, in trains No. 717/718 and No. 721/722 Moscow – Minsk, a dynamic pricing system has been introduced, rw.by reports.
Such an agreement was reached between the Belarusian Railways and Russian Railways in order to stimulate demand and attract passengers to railway transport.
"The main criteria for the formation of the tariff using the dynamic pricing system are the percentage of occupancy of seats in the car of the appropriate type and the timing of the purchase of travel documents (tickets) by passengers. As the percentage of car occupancy increases, the fare gradually increases" - the press center of the Belarusian Railway said.
The level of occupancy is recalculated on-line with each new registration or return of travel documents. The system provides both a maximum discount of up to 20% for 31 days or more before the departure of a particular train (the fare in a 2nd class car will be 48.06 BYN), and a surcharge of 20% when booking a trip less than a day before the departure of the train and loading the car over 81% (the fare in a 2nd class car will be 81.28 BYN).
The Belarusian Railways draws attention to the fact that "the dynamic pricing system is used only when passengers travel in interstate traffic (between stations of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation) and is not used for organized groups of passengers".
