A memorial board to Vasil Bykov will be installed in Minsk
A memorial board in honor of Vasil Bykov will soon appear in Minsk, reports tut.by. The board was created by the Belarusian sculptor Igor Zosimovich.
The board will be placed on the facade of a house on Maxim Tank Street, in which a Belarusian writer lived for a long time. The size of the memorial plate is 1.83 m long and 0.5 m wide.
In the center of the board, there is a portrait of Vasil Bykov in bronze. The board itself is made of brass, a fragment from the work of the writer is applied on it. The portrait was created from photographs and video materials that survived after the writer's life. As a prototype, the sculptor chose an image, which everyone knows from school books.
Work on the memorial board has been completed, but the installation dates are still unknown, due to the pandemic the date of the celebration was postponed. The official opening will take place in November 2020.
