A Mystical Musical in Minsk

The Youth Variety Theatre is set to premiere a mystical musical based on The Master and Margarita on February 13, Minsk-News reports.

Inspired by Mikhail Bulgakov’s iconic novel, the production offers a modern interpretation of the classic story.

The plot introduces new contemporary characters who enter the infamous apartment, triggering the return of Bulgakov’s legendary figures — Woland, Margarita, the Master, Pontius Pilate and others.

The creators promise a blend of mysticism, music, choreography and philosophical reflection.

The musical is directed by the theatre’s artistic director Vladislava Artyukovskaya, with music by Alexander Sukharev.
