A new law for migrants comes into force in Belarus

Foreign citizens who want to obtain Belarusian citizenship will have to take an oath and take a language exam, Sputnik reported.

The updated law on the adoption of Belarusian citizenship comes into force on July 11. The main innovations relate to the mandatory oath and language exams.

Everyone wishing to obtain Belarusian citizenship must take an oath. The law provides grounds for revoking a decision on citizenship if a person refused to take an oath.

You will also need to pass a written test for knowledge of Russian or Belarusian.

All details should be clarified in the Office of Citizenship and Migration.
