A republican fund for the storage of radioactive waste will be created in Belarus
The construction of a republican radioactive waste storage facility in Belarus will be required by 2030, minsknews.by reports.
According to the Minister of Energy Viktor Karankevich, the facility will allow for the storage of radioactive waste from nuclear power plants and other manufacturers.
The minister also noted that the best world technologies are being studied and used for the construction of the facility.
To determine the place for construction, comprehensive work will be carried out, including a new department that is planned to be created in the Ministry of Energy, with the involvement of scientists from the National Academy of Sciences.
