A student of VSTU creates eco-friendly technologies in the production of shoes

Karina Buzhinskaya, a graduate student at Vitebsk State Technological University, received a scholarship from the President of Belarus for the development of environmentally friendly recycled shoe materials, BelTA writes.

Her project is aimed at recycling polymer waste from shoe production, creating competitive and import-substituting materials for soles and insoles. Cooperating with a shoe company, Karina strives to introduce her technology into production.

She plans to expand research into the recycling of other polymer materials such as rubber and PVC, reducing environmental impacts and making production cheaper.
