A1 launched 4G connection for 76% of the country's residents

According to tut.by, A1 and infrastructure operator beCloud have completed the first stage of a joint project to develop 4G in Belarus.

The beCloud LTE network covers the regional centers of Belarus and most major cities. Among them-Bobruisk, Zhlobin, Baranovichi, Vileyka, Dzerzhinsk, Kalinkovichi, Lida, Molodechno, Mozyr, Nesvizh, Novogrudok, Orsha, Ostrovets, Pinsk, Polotsk, Rechitsa, Soligorsk, Slonim. 76% of the population of Belarus lives on this territory (in total, the launch occurred in almost 200 localities).

According to the company, 4G network coverage, which became available to A1 subscribers in Bobruisk and Zhlobin, is guaranteed by the joint work of specialists of the two companies on the infrastructure provided by A1 for base stations, similar to Pinsk and Gomel.

From January 2020, the LTE network will begin to be deployed on the basis of the A1 infrastructure in rural areas. As a result, by 2023, the coverage area of the 4G network for the operator's subscribers will be 97% of the territory-this is comparable to the 3G network area now.
