About 160 thousand tulips were harvested for sale on the International Women's Day in Belarus

About 30 thousand roses and 160 thousand tulips have been harvested in the Minsk Greenhouse Complex for delivery to stores on International Women's Day, the Minsk-News agency writes.

The most popular tulips are yellow, red, purple, white, pink and red-yellow. Among the roses, the most popular are red and burgundy.

The process of growing tulips begins with planting bulbs. Then they are cooled and transferred to a greenhouse, where at higher temperatures the flowers ripen especially for the holiday. At the harvesting stage, the tulips are cut and sorted by length and color. Then they are packed and sent to the central warehouse.

Roses are grown in the greenhouses of the Minsk greenhouse Complex all year round. In total, the company has about 25 varieties of them.
