Academy of Sciences choose the best young scientists 2023

At a meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences on December 11, the laureates of the Young scientist awards for 2023 were named, Minsk-News reported. There are eight laureates among them.

The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus annually awards eight prizes for young scientists. Two are in the fields of physics, computer science, mathematics, physical engineering and technical sciences. Four are in the fields of chemistry, medicine, biology, Earth sciences and agricultural sciences, and two are in the fields of social sciences and humanities.

The research and development of this year's award winners is aimed at solving important practical problems in the field of forestry, pulp and paper and pharmaceutical industries, medicine, crop production, microelectronics and sociological research.

Among the main works are studies on stimulating the growth, survival and productivity of cereals, medicinal and ornamental plants using the method of seed treatment with low–temperature nonequilibrium plasma.
