Advertising fee introduced in Belarus

On March 31, the President of Belarus signed a decree on the development of mass media, the Minsk-News agency writes with reference to BELTA.

From April 1, advertisers must pay a fee for advertising, which will be used to support state media. The fee is calculated as a percentage of the cost of advertising distribution services:

• 10% for outdoor advertising and advertising on transport;
• 20% in other cases.

In addition, the value added tax rate for the provision of data transmission services has been changed from 25% to 26%.
