Almost 2.5 thousand students help doctors treat patients with COVID-19

Almost 2.5 thousand senior students of medical universities have already been sent to polyclinics and hospitals to help treat patients with COVID-19, BELTA writes.

All around the country in hospitals were sent 1228 senior students of the Belarusian Medical University, 276 students from the Vitebsk Medical University, 440 students from the Gomel Medical University and 526 students of the Grodno Medical University. They study Medicine, Pediatrics, Medical and psychological medicine, Somatology, Pharmacy, Medical and Preventive medicine.

Students and interns work in hospitals, in polyclinics, in clinical diagnostic laboratories, in vaccination offices. They also help specialists in call centers and in mobile teams that go to patients' homes.

This practice has existed in medical universities before. In spring or autumn, during the seasonal rise of diseases, students also actively helped doctors.
