World No. 1 Arina Sobolenko has advanced to the quarterfinals of the WTA-500 tournament in Berlin, which has a prize fund of €921,000, BelTA writes.
In the round of 16, the Belarusian tennis player defeated Switzerland’s Rebeka Masarova (WTA No. 112) with a score of 6–2, 7–6. The match was interrupted after the first set and completed the following day.
In the next round, Sabalenka will face the winner of the match between Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan, No. 11) and Katerina Siniakova (Czech Republic, No. 74).
The tournament, held on the grass courts of Berlin, will conclude on June 22. The winner will earn 500 ranking points and €142,600 in prize money.
