Belarusian tennis player Arina Sobolenko has risen from the second to the first position in the WTA ranking, an updated version of which is published on the organization's website, Sputnik reported.

The Belarusian beat the previous WTA leader, the Polish Igu Shventek, on points. Sobolenko has 9266 points, Shventek has 8195. In third place is the winner of the US Open Coco Gauff (USA).

For the first time, Aryna Sabalenka became the first racket of the world and the second representative of Belarus to earn this title.
