Aryna Sabalenka nominated for Best Tennis Player 2023 of WTA

Tennis player from Belarus Arina Sobolenko is now among the 5 nominees for the WTA Best Tennis Player of the Year award, Sputnik reported.

The WTA commentary notes that after 2022, when Sabalenka slipped from second place to fifth, in 2023 she demonstrated a more stable serve. The year began for her with a winning streak of 13 matches.

In addition, Sabalenka became the first player to reach the semifinals of all four Grand Slam tournaments in one season since 2016. Also, on September 11 of this year, Sabalenka became the second tennis player in the history of Belarus to head the WTA.
