NPP

At what stage is the launch of the Belarusian NPP?

The launch of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is postponed to a later date, tut.by reports. The comprehensive plan for the development of the electricity industry in the country was revised and adjusted by the Council of Ministers.

At the moment, the completion of the construction of the nuclear power plant has been shifted from 2021 to 2022. The launch of the first power unit is scheduled for November 7, 2020.

Also, the government revised the plan to increase electricity consumption in Belarus by the time the nuclear power plant was launched. Today, Belarus does not consume the same amount of energy that will be generated by a nuclear power plant.

In addition, the issue of conservation of individual power plants as they are unnecessary after the opening of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is being discussed. So far, it is not about the complete conservation of power units, but about the suspension of equipment operation until there is a demand for additional electricity from the population.
