Belarus' $1.4 billion debt to Russia postponed

The Belarusian authorities have appealed to the Russian side with a request for a postponement of loan payments due to the difficult financial situation. The agreement between the countries has been amended, which implies the transfer of payments, Sputnik reported.

 Payments for repayment of loans from March 2022 to April 2023 in the amount of $ 1.4 billion are postponed for the period from 2028 to 2033.

The interest rate has also changed. Previously, it was floating. Now it becomes fixed at 12% level.
