Belarus and Latvia will organize one of the best ice hockey world Championships in 2021. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said this at a meeting with President of the International ice hockey Federation (IIHF) Rene Fasel, reports belta.by.

Two applications were submitted for the right to host the world Cup in 2021: one joint from Belarus and Latvia, the second-from Finland. Latvia has already hosted the world Cup in 2006, and Belarus hosted the tournament in 2014.

At this meeting, The President of Belarus also thanked Fasel for coming to Minsk for the Christmas international ice hockey tournament.
