Belarus and Russia signed an agreement on mutual recognition of traffic violations

An agreement between Belarus and Russia on mutual recognition of administrative offenses in traffic rules has been signed in Kyrgyzstan, BelTA reported.

The agreement provides for mutual recognition of all violations in the field of traffic safety, including those recorded by means with photo fixation. Data on violations will be exchanged via electronic communication channels.

Now, if a Russian citizen violates traffic rules on the territory of Belarus, the decree will have legal force on the territory of Russia. At the same time, if the fine is not paid in Belarus, it can be forcibly collected in Russia. The fine will go to the budget of Russia.

The same procedure will be applied to owners of vehicles that are registered in Belarus. A fine unpaid by Belarusians in Russia can be forcibly collected in Belarus and credited to the budget of Belarus.

We recently wrote that Belarus and Poland have an agreement on mutual social security.
