Belarus became Chair of OSCE Security Forum
Belarus has assumed the rights of the Chair of Security Cooperation Forum of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, BELTA writes. The Forum works to improve security and stability in the military sphere in Europe and covers some of the most fundamental military-political agreements.
Belarus' chairmanship at the Forum will last from April to August. The chairmanship of the forum is carried out by the OSCE participating countries on a rotating basis. The term is about four months.
In addition to organizing weekly meetings of the forum, Belarus will also be responsible for developing recommendations on conventional arms control and confidence- and security-building measures. In addition, during the Belarusian chairmanship, an annual meeting will be held to review the implementation of the OSCE Code on Military-Political Aspects of Security.
