For October, foreign exchange reserves increased by $362.9 million (4.1%) after a decrease in September 2019 by $60.1 million (0.7%).
The government and the national Bank in October fulfilled foreign and domestic obligations in foreign currency in the amount of about $ 225 million.
"The increase in the level of foreign exchange reserves in October contributed to the purchase of foreign currency by the National Bank at the auction of the Belarusian currency and stock exchange, foreign exchange earnings in the budget, including from levying export duties on oil and petroleum products, the proceeds from the sale by the Ministry of Finance bonds denominated in foreign currency and increase the value of monetary gold," explained the national Bank.
According to the Main directions of monetary policy for 2019, the volume of international reserve assets as of January 1, 2020 should be at least $ 7.1 billion
