Belarus introduces a State quality mark

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, signed Decree No. 21 on the creation of the State Quality Mark, Belarus Today reports.

The sign is a red pentagon with the image of an inverted letter "K" and the inscription "Belarus". The sign symbolizes five indicators of production: safety, environmental friendliness, innovation, manufacturability and aesthetics.

Discussions on the shape of the sign took place in early 2024, during a meeting with the President, marking the beginning of the Year of Quality in Belarus. The State Quality Mark is based on the concept of the Soviet Quality Mark, which the President noted was minimalistic and no frills.

The process of awarding the mark and benefits for manufacturers will be determined by the Government and aimed at improving the quality standards of Belarusian goods and services.

It is expected that the first owners of the mark will appear at the end of this year, contributing to the development of high-quality products in the country.
