Belarus is going to join the SCO in an accelerated format

The deputies adopted a draft law on Belarus' accession to the agreements of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization today, July 30, Sputnik reported.

The adoption of this law will speed up Belarus' accession to the SCO. According to the draft law, Belarus plans to join the SCO in 1 year instead of two years.

In order to accelerate Belarus' entry into the SCO, the Belarusian side signed a memorandum on obligations to obtain the status of a SCO member state. The remaining participants will sign the memorandum in July 2023 in India.
