Belarus Leads in Waste Management in the Post-Soviet Space
Belarus holds a leading position in waste management among post-Soviet countries, BelTA writes.
In 2023, Belarus achieved higher waste utilization rates compared to Russia's 13.9% and Kazakhstan's 23.4%. The country aims to implement a strategy ensuring at least 90% waste reuse, similar to Sweden's advanced system.
A draft strategy was prepared in late 2024 and is expected to be reviewed by the government in the first quarter of this year.
