Belarus' rating in the Global Innovation Index 2022
The World Intellectual Property Organization has released the Global Innovation Index report, which distributes 132 countries by the level of innovative development. In 2022, Belarus moved from 62nd to 77th place. However, there are improvements, Devby.io reported.
The authors of the index compare countries by a variety of parameters divided into two groups: innovation resources (human capital and science, infrastructure, the level of market and business development) and innovation results (technology development and knowledge economy, creative activity results). According to the results of innovations, Belarus was on the 63rd place, in terms of innovation resources on the 86th.
The position of Belarus has deteriorated in terms of the parameters "infrastructure" (58 → 59 → 67), "the level of business development" (67 → 69 → 72), "the development of technology and the knowledge economy" (46 → 37 → 40).
On the remaining points, improvements are observed: according to the "level of market development", the country has risen from 101st to 96th place over the year, according to the parameter "human capital and science" - growth from 38th to 35th place, and according to the "results of creative activity" from 93rd to 91st.
