Belarus will receive 100 million euros for the development of higher education

The World Bank will give Belarus a loan of 100 million euros for the modernization of higher education in the country, reports tut.by.

The proceeds will go to improve 18 educational institutions in Belarus (universities and colleges). In particular, reconstruction of buildings will be carried out, as well as modern equipment will be purchased for educational and laboratory classes.

The need for modernization of higher education institutions is caused by the participation of Belarus in the Bologna process (since 2015). Thanks to new equipment and other innovations, Belarusian educational institutions will have the opportunity to participate in more international educational projects, programs and competitions.

The modernization of educational institutions will be completed by 2025, annually creating better conditions for the education of students.

Also within the framework of the project, it is planned to create a National Agency for ensuring the quality of education.
